Hebrews 13:20-21 (click here)
Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. (Hebrews 13:20-21)

When I was preparing to move out of my parents’ house and into my first apartment, my mother sat me down to go over everything she thought I needed to know to be on my own.

I remember feeling absolutely overwhelmed as she showed me how she kept up with her bank books, paid bills, took care of various types of insurance, and on and on and on.

All these things had been necessary parts of my life up to this point, but I had never even given them a second thought. Why? Because they had always been provided for me!

Everything I needed for life had been provided.

Sometimes I have felt the same sense of being overwhelmed when considering the life to which God has called us as his people. We give our lives to knowing Christ and making him known! Our mission is to make disciples of all nations while loving Christ and living according to all that he has commanded us… and on and on and on.

This can feel so overwhelming… until we realize that all the power we need to live this life has been provided to us! That’s the point of Hebrews 13:20-21… that God, who powerfully raised Jesus from the dead, equips and empowers you with EVERYTHING you need to do his will! He works in us that which is pleasing in his sight! It is by his power so that he gets the glory!

Everything we need for life has been provided through Christ!

O’ Christian… go forth in faith today… not just that God has saved you, but that he is presently working to empower you with every ounce of power you need! His power has conquered death… the most powerful destructive force… therefore, there is nothing his power cannot conquer!

Live by faith… EVERYTHING you need is being provided through Christ!
